Collectors’ piece - a Georgian acrostic locket brooch spelling the word ‘Love’. I’m not sure I’ve ever actually had a TRUE Georgian ‘Love’ piece. They’re like lovers’ eyes, or suffragette jewels - true pieces are incredibly rare. People always swap out stones to fit because they’re so desirable. Lapis, Opal, Vermeil (garnet), and Emerald. Interspersed with turquoise, for forget me not. Tightly binding the whole thing is a border made of snake scales, in a nod to the ouroboros. This piece has one more secret - it opens to reveal a lock of her beloveds hair. Even the glass is exquisitely cut. Modelled in high carat.
