A lovely high carat Georgian locket in the shape of a lyre. The rim of the locket also looks like a horseshoe, which is kinda cool. I think the fabric inside (it’s not hair) was chosen because it resembles the strings of a lyre (when stretched out). An early conversion piece - originally a brooch and long ago converted into a pendant (evidence of the removal of the pin to the back and a slight split to the gold). Set with rubies and bright turquoise.
