My absolutely favourite find…. A HUGE high carat gold 1870s heart, stuffed full of detail and symbolism. A running fox with a bright ruby eye, three flying arrows, Celtic imagery. And a locket to the back. Evidently a specially commissioned piece for an old money family. This is a take on the signet ring with a family crest. The thick and strong steel pin makes me think this might’ve been designed to be worn on thick materials (rather than the delicate silks of a dress) - maybe heavy duty tartan etc? Superbly made. Hefty at just over 17 grams. I’ve had the locket out, and that weight is all gold. A brooch and also a pendant
