Engraved for a JBW Heather, who died on the 2nd of December, 1836, aged 38. Smothered in makers marks and hallmarks, which is really lovely in a ring this age. Usually it’s just the mourning bands which are hallmarked. So it was made in London, in 1836, in 18ct.The glass to the back is missing, as someone probably wanted to remove JBW Heather’s hair. The goldwork is crisp, the enamelling perfect, the natural pearls are fat, and the diamond to the centre is lovely.
